Why will your fine photograph be so unique and exceptional? ... What goes into the making of our fine art pieces? ... Creating a fine portrait involves many steps outside of photography like planning, creation, design and the art of hand printing and finishing. We don't simply print your portraits directly from the camera. This would be called a snapshot or a proof. But that’s not why clients come to Portrait Boutique. Clients come to us because they have a need for something exceptional, a priceless memory of their children to be cherished forever. In fine portraiture, once precious memories are captured, they go through an enhancement process similar to paintings. Skin is softened, eyes brightened, teeth lightened, and skin imperfections reduced. Vignettes are created to the final portrait to bring out the subjects even more. The final step is protecting your portrait with a mount and texture.

At our boutique studio, we don't charge extra for artisan enhancements. It is all part of the upscale service we provide. Our clients often tell us that our portfolio is very unique and everyone looks so great, at ease and natural, and that our images are so different from other studios. This is the reason why we are different. We put a lot of heart and soul into each fine art piece. That's why it takes 6 weeks to complete your finished art work. Quality takes time.

What is our Philosophy? ... We rarely place a subject in front of the camera the first time we meet and point-an-click. Fine portraiture involves much more. You will be working with an artist. Prior to your session, we meet with you for a planning appointment. From this step we create an itinerary and an approach to creating beautiful memories. This planning allows us to give you the most variety and plan the time we spend with you in a constructive way. Most clients are sent home with a little homework and wardrobe / prop lists. A precious example ... Our newborn sessions almost always involve the study of scale. A little bauble or trinket placed in the baby’s hand white the memory is created will make a very lasting impact on the family. The parents sometimes don’t realize how important that little bauble is for several years to come, but we tell them to never throw it away for one day it will pull at you heartstrings. Imagine seeing a portrait of this precious newborn with his hand on top of thiS little bauble, --- look down at your now 5 year old son and look back at that image where the little bauble is placed. Was he really that small? Ask him to hold that little bauble now. Don’t they grow so fast? Props take on a whole new meaning don't they?

What are our Specialties? ... Margie Mastrangelo specializes in newborn photography and children's portraiture. This is where we start and continue on during your child's journey to adulthood. But at the very core of the studio, I guess we can say that it all begins with the newborn portrait session.

Your experience will be enjoyable in a small boutique studio. Our studio is quaint and comfortable with all amenities. Your will have your own private living room during your session and viewing appointments. The artists workshop is full of wonder but we must warn you that it is truly an artists workshop.
