Baby Photography & Childrens Portraits

In addition to the baby storybook  program recording the first year of baby photography, we recommend capturing professional children’s photography during the following ages:

Toddler: eighteen months baby photography
At this stage the toddler is still grasping moms hand while reaching for the world around. This clingy personality lends itself well to a relationship portrait allowing toddlers to relax in the arms of mom and dad or their lap.

Toddler: two years
A key milestone is the half way mark between early toddler and mature toddler. At this stage they are busy, full of delight, uncertainty and never ending energy.

Toddler: three years
Three years is a wonderful time to document your child’s playfulness and love for make-believe games. This is a great age for really colorful sets to capture playful moods. This magically fun portrait is perfect for your child’s bedroom decor.

Childhood: five years
Your baby begins to loose that toddler look. Their faces and bodies start to elongate and you realize that they are now a child. This is their childhood and another key milestone to record in portraits. Because you child is now more mature we recommend a special artistic and painterly style in capturing portraits at five years.

Childhood: seven years
Capturing images of your child at this stage will bridge the gap between childhood and the next stage of life, youth. This is the perfect age for an outdoor location.

Youth: ten years
Parents often skip this stage in portrait creation. Around ten years is the perfect time to capture your youth in an urban or country setting. We recommend keeping it real by letting your child play with their skateboard or bicycle whatever their interests are at this point.

Youth: twelve years
A key milestone portrait as this is the final portrait before the teen years.

Young adult: sixteen years
This certainly is a milestone in any child’s life and is usually celebrated with something special. Your child is now independent. They may express their own opinions. Plans for their future careers start to emerge as priorities now. Capture this young adult stage with something hip but still timeless  reflecting their desires, passions and interests.

Young adult: seventeen or eighteen years
This is a key milestone portrait that should be celebrated artistically of your soon-to-be high school graduate. The perfect time to do this portrait is the spring or summer just before your teen graduates high school.
